VA Hispanic Chamber Conference & Gala Friday with Tuck’s Greenhalgh & Gov McDonnell
Richmond, VA [CapitalWirePR] – Virginia’s Hispanic Chamber of Commerce kicks off their annual business conference and Gala with presentations by two nationally recognized figures, Governor Bob McDonnell [R-VA] and Dartmouth’s Dr. Leonard Greenhalgh.
Dr. Greenhalgh is a well regarded professor at the Tuck School of Business and will keynote the luncheon at noon this Friday. As a reflection of the esteem with which both he and the chamber are regarded the Honorable Jim Cheng, Secretary of Commerce for the Commonwealth of Virginia, will make introductory remarks. The Virginia Hispanic chamber’s 2010 Business Conference will convene at 10:30 am and close at 1:30 pm on April 23rd at the Richmond Marriott in Richmond, Virginia.

The day’s activities will be crowned with the annual Gala Event at the Science Museum of Virginia replete with red carpet arrival, cocktail reception and four course seated dinner. Virginia’s celebrated new Governor Bob McDonnell will be the guest speaker.
Friday evening’s recognitions with Bridge Builder Awards going to Michael L. Barrera, President, National Hispanic Business Information Clearinghouse (Hispanic BIC) and Dr. Gerald Gordon, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Authority in Fairfax County.
This year’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award will go to Edgar Rios, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Wenzi Capital Partners, a private equity firm in McLean, Virginia.
This year’s Public Service Award will go to Nancy Rodrigues, Virginia’s Chief Officer of Elections. In addition, Bridge Builder awards for education will be presented to Fairfax County and the Richmond Public Schools in recognition of their Spanish Immersion Programs.
