Event on the Gang Truce in El Salvador
This Wednesday, January 16th, the Institute for Policy Studies is hosting an event about the 2012 truce between El Salvador’s largest gangs. People can read more background in the recent issue of El Salvador Watch.
There have been lots of questions raised over the past year about the truce – how it was initiated, where it’s going, what it will take to make it last – and this will be an important space to ask questions and engage in conversation with a representative of the international advisory group that’s helping to promote a longer-term peace process in El Salvador.
*Please note: this event is being held at the Busboys at 5th and K Streets (Not on 14th St.).
