Arlington, VA. The twenty-fifth Argentina National Day Celebration, highlighting the cultural and social diversity of the Argentinean people, will be held at Thomas Jefferson Theater in Arlington, 125 South Old Glebe Road, on Saturday, May 19th, 6:0pm/10:30pm. Open doors at 4pm with food and exhibitors.
This year’s celebration will be held rain or shine, on May 19-20th tango workshops in Arlington at the Thomas Jefferson Theater, 125 South Old Glebe Road, promises to be our best ever! Fifth vocal acts will highlight the festivities – legendary singer Miguel Duré (Camino Milongas), US debuts of TAIS and SON ELLAS and the world-renowned “Pampa Cortes dance star in Trio w/Gigi Jensen and Lizette Perelle in Tango. Victorio Menghi, tango fusion world tour, Cristian Perez, ensemble repertoire of great Astor Piazolla. They will be joined by acclaimed local performers including the gaucho-influenced group Cantoral 3, and tango dancers Carlos & Victoria Tango Show, Camilla Ng and Milonga with Sylvia Rodriguez. The acclaimed Daniel Bouchet singing in English “La Cumparcita” international show and Patricio Lizarraga and his Latin Dancer!
This year, the Argentine Committee has unveiled a new website, www.festivalargentinousa.com. Visitors to the website can purchase discounted $20 tickets for the May 19th Celebration; the ticket price at the door on the day of the event will be $30 ($20 for Senior Citizens and students with proper University ID).
