Washington, DC [CapitalWirePR] May 31, 2012 – The National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI) announced today that Mr. H. Analco González, Ms. Marcela Bailey, and Ms. Laura S. Nieto have been appointed to NHLI’s Board of Directors.
From varying backgrounds and professions, the board brings different perspectives to govern the national organization that engages Latinas by enhancing and developing leadership abilities through trainings, civic/social and other community development activities to help ensure a vibrant and sustainable future for all.
Current board members include: Marieli Colon-Padilla, Antonia Jimenez, Mayda Prego, Marcela Bailey, Carmen Bauza, Maria Cardona, Member, Dr. Catalina E. Garcia, H. Analco Gonzalez, Michelle Minguez Moore, Laura Nieto, Dr. Margaret Quiñones, Peter R. Villegas, and Barbara J. DesMarteau. Marieli Colon Padilla will continue to serve as Chairwoman of the Board. Marieli is also a senior vice president at Fleishman Hillard International Communications, Inc.

Barbara J. DesMarteau, Acting President of NHLI also stated, “I am honored to work with the new individuals on our Board of Directors. Analco González holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University Of Texas School Of Law and is the President and Founder of OCI Group, a social, purpose-driven private consulting firm.
Upon receiving his appointment, Mr. Gonzalez said, “The work of NHLI is extremely significant, and provides a unique perspective as a Latino who was reared with strong, intelligent, articulate Latinas that were role models my entire life so NHLI has a very special significance to me.”
Marcela Bailey is the Vice President and Divisional CIO for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, a multi-billion dollar division of Sony Pictures Entertainment. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in international business from Loyola Marymount University and a master’s degree in business administration in information systems and operations management from the University of Southern California.
Laura S. Nieto serves as Senior Manager of Community Affairs & Grassroots at Southwest Airlines, the nation’s largest domestic carrier. Nieto graduated from Texas Tech University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations, and has a passion for and expertise in community outreach to diverse audiences.
