The results of the new survey, carried out by CID-Gallup, between the 5th and 9th of January 2014 – intended to reflect valid vote among people over 18 years in El Salvador, show FMLN ahead with 49%, followed by ARENA with 37% and UNIDAD with 14%.

The latest poll by CID-Gallup polling house, released this past Monday January 13th, ranks Salvador Sanchez Ceren, (FMLN) in front of the preferences with 49%, followed by Norman Quijano (ARENA), with 37%, while Antonio Saca (UNIDAD) lies in third place with 14%.

The poll indicates that Sanchez Ceren is supported mainly by people with college education, male, living outside the area of San Salvador, and by people who approve president Mauricio Funes.

The survey results reflect the intention of the valid vote. This is achieved by removing from the equation abstained, blank and nulled votes. In reality, only valid votes count in an election, said an analyst of CID -Gallup polling house, while presenting the results in downtown hotel in San Salvador.
