Ayuda Celebrates Supreme Court’s Ruling on DACA

Washington, DC (June 18, 2020) – Today, Ayuda celebrates the Supreme Court’s ruling that the Administration’s efforts to cancel the program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) were arbitrary and capricious and cannot stand. This is a step in the right direction for the immigrant community. Like thousands of others, we celebrate and are inspired by the strength and perseverance of our phenomenal “Dreamers,” children who entered the United States without status who have built their lives here.

“As a ‘dreamer’ myself, it feels really special to work for an organization with the heart and intention to serve,” says Ayuda staff member Giancarla Cazzol.

“Thank you to Ayuda for advocating for me, creating a space for me, and for truly having an impact on my life. Today confirmed that our voices matter, and that this is the time for hope, and empowerment. I cried tears of joy this morning as I read about the ruling, with my life no longer on pause, it is an amazing feeling to be able to continue making plans, and setting goals for my future. We have a steep hill to climb, but I’m proud of everyone who’s still climbing. Ever facing forward… let’s continue to soar, dreamers! We deserve it, every bit of it.”

Dreamers and every immigrant in the United States indeed deserve this victory and so much more. Here’s to more victories ahead, and to strength in the fight. It is a genuine honor for Ayuda to stand with immigrant clients from all over the world, today and always.
