WHAT: L’Acadco is widely regarded as Jamaica’s leading contemporary dance company, and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.L’Acadco’s work exudes a revolutionary fusion of rich Caribbean folklore with contemporary themes.  20 Dancers classically trained in jazz, ballet and African dance have come from Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, the Bahamas, Suriname and Jamaica.  The program is one hour without intermission.
WHO: Artistic Director Dr. L’Antoinette Stines uses an eclectic Caribbean contemporary technique called L’Antech  which synthesizes Jamaican Afro-Caribbean forms, and contains elements of reggae, rocksteady, ska, dancehall and raga; it also has a distinctive spiritual element that unites body, mind and soul.
