The 2013 Steering Committee of the Montgomery County Executive Hispanic Gala (MCEHG) announces the twenty-five Latino students that will be this year’s scholarship recipients.
All students will be honored during the gala celebration on September 12, 2013 to take place at The Fillmore Silver Spring, MD.
“These young men and women represent the high caliber of commitment and perseverance that characterizes Hispanic youth in Maryland,” said Lorna Virgili, Event Chair. “They are America’s future and we are delighted to help further their educational goals,” she concluded.
All recipients are enrolled in Maryland colleges and universities; they were born in 10 Latin American countries and in the United States; and several of them are “Dreamers”, as specified by the Maryland Dream Act.

Each student will receive a $2,000.00 lump sum scholarship payble to the Student’s School Office of the Bursar.
The Montgomery County Executive Hispanic Gala is a volunteer-run event committed to assisting Hispanic youth achieve a high level of education. Funds raised support the Montgomery Hispanic Gala Fund which provides financial assistance to Hispanic students enrolled in Maryland higher learning institutions.
The Executive’s Hispanic Gala will serve to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in Montgomery County and the State of Maryland.
