LANGLEY PARK, MD, October 13, 2014.-CASA de Maryland and CASA de Virginia congratulate the people and Government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and its leader, President Evo Morales Ayma, on the resounding victory achieved in the presidential elections held on Sunday, October 12th, 2014. Bolivians also went to the polls to elect a Vice President as well as members of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate.
The victory of President Evo Morales Ayma for his third term in office is the victory of democracy and of the sovereign people of Bolivia in their quest for a more just society. CASA de Maryland and CASA de Virginia are particularly thankful to the Electoral Supreme Tribunal of Bolivia for allowing it to be a part of this important event, and are proud and honored to have served as a voting center for the Bolivian community at CASA de Maryland headquarters in Langley Park. CASA looks forward to continued cooperation with the Bolivian community in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. and with the Electoral Supreme Tribunal of Bolivia in the near future.
Through the peaceful and democratic celebration of their presidential and congressional elections, Bolivians continue to show the important progress made under the leadership of President Evo Morales Ayma –the first indigenous President in that country’s history – to foster a system of political, social and economic inclusion through democratic means. This serves as an inspiration to the work of CASA de Maryland and CASA de Virginia in their efforts to correct the wrongs of historical exclusion in the U.S.
