(Silver Spring, MD) – With President Obama’s executive action thought to provide relief to tens of thousands of Marylanders, Montgomery County officials will pair up with CASA to host a mass orientation this Tuesday to prepare county residents to apply for a work visa.
The orientation will explain in-depth the qualifications and benefits, and prepare the community to start bringing the documents they need in order to apply in the spring of 2015.
“CASA together with hundreds of thousands of members and friends held rallies and protests, talked to press and politicians, committed civil disobedience to stop deportations, and grew our movement, neighbor by neighbor, coworker by coworker. The President heard us and we won,” said Gustavo Torres, Executive Director of CASA de Maryland. “Now it is our chance to ensure that every qualified person gets into the system and gets legalized!”
