We are excited to be partnering with RAICES and Detention Watch Network to host a MARCH from the Department of Justice to the White House on Thursday, 10/22 to call upon the Obama administration to comply with Judge Gee’s order and #EndFamilyDetention. We’ll meet at the DOJ around 4:15 and start the program with testimonies from released families in the DMV area, and then we will begin the march at 5:00pm. There will be more programming when we arrive at the White House.
It’s time to really make some noise here in DC so that top officials understand that our local community is impacted by their decision to ignore the law!! Our march will be part of a national week of action hosted by RAICES, a community organization in Texas that has done amazing work with detained and released families, and played a huge role in providing pro bono representation within the centers. On Friday, 10/23, the deadline for the administration to comply with the order, we will be organizing a social media storm & call-in to key officials. Details to come.
