Latino Celebrities Speak Out Against Republican Presidential Candidates’ Anti-Immigrant Fear-Mongering

Tomorrow, a letter signed by Latino celebrities including Benjamin Bratt, Ivonne Coll, America Ferrera, Dolores Huerta, George Lopez, Aubrey Plaza, Zoe Saldana, Carlos Santana, and others will be released by People For the American Way. The letter, addressed to the Latino community, calls on voters to stand up against the anti-immigrant fear-mongering from Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and all the leading Republican presidential candidates by voting in 2016.

With Iowa and New Hampshire results in, it’s clear that Republican presidential candidates believe they can win by demonizing immigrant communities. Given the significance of the Latino vote in Nevada, where voters will caucus within the next two weeks, this letter addresses the importance of standing up against the hate targeting immigrant communities that has been so rampant during the Republican primary thus far.
