Esta producción es comisiada por Alliance for New Music-Theatre por el galardonado compositor mexicano, Rosino Serrano, y la libretista local Susan Galbraith. El reconocido director José Luis Valenzuela se une al equpio creativo bicultural para dirigir el estreno de la presentación del Coro Juvenil en Washington, DC, en el 2022.
La ópera de cámara humaniza la historia de los refugiados que cruzan la frontera sur de los estados Unidos. Basada en una historia real, dos hombres se conocen y violan la norma de «no involucrarse» entre «viajero» y «samaritano». Ambos deberán tomar decisiones morales difíciles.

GALA Hispanic Theatre, in partnership with Alliance for New Music-Theatre and the Mexican Cultural Institute, invites you to enjoy the Latino Youth Chorus with participants of GALA’s Paso Nuevo Youth program in the chamber opera On the Road to Arivaca. The production is commissioned by Alliance for New Music-Theatre by award-winning composer Rosino Serrano from Mexico City and local librettist Susan Galbraith. Renowned director José Luis Valenzuela joins the bi-cultural creative team with plans to direct the premiere in Washington, DC in 2022 with featuring the Youth Chorus.
The chamber opera humanizes the story of refugees crossing our southern border. Based on a true encounter, two men trespass the rule of “no engagement” between “Sojourner” and “Samaritan” when they inadvertently meet, and both face difficult moral choices.
