BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm that invests in high-growth, disruptive companies, today announced the promotion of Mike Thompson to Managing Director, Head of Growth Team. Thompson’s promotion to the newly created role reflects Great Hill’s continued commitment to strong growth and value creation by building exceptional portfolio companies.
Thompson officially joined Great Hill in 2018 as the firm’s first Growth Partner, after serving as an active board member of multiple portfolio companies for two years. He developed the firm’s “Growth Flywheel”, a series of growth frameworks, tools, and best practices designed to develop and implement a value creation plan together with management and has deployed this approach to drive significant operational improvements for several portfolio companies, including ParetoHealth, PartsSource, Quantum Health, RxBenefits, and Vatica Health. Prior to joining Great Hill, Thompson spent 16 years at Nuance Communications, a voice recognition and AI company, where he built and led the company’s mobile division.
Since its creation, Great Hill’s Growth Team has evolved into a robust Growth Program, supporting portfolio companies and their executive teams across several vectors, including strategy, go-to-market, marketing, pricing, product, technology, AI, customer success, M&A, and talent.
