AM Best to Participate in Society of Actuaries’ 2022 Health Meeting

OLDWICK, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AM Best will join a session on navigating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic at the Society of Actuaries’ Health Meeting, which will be held June 12-15, 2022, in Philadelphia, PA.

AM Best Director Doniella Pliss will review how companies are evolving their financial and capital management practices amid the pandemic to achieve strategic goals during the panel discussion, which is titled, “COVID-19: Financial Impacts and Re-shaping Risk and Capital Management Practices.” Other topics during the session to be explored include how health insurers are focused on managing and optimizing their capital and liquidity needs, and how structured reinsurance has emerged as an increasingly utilized form of managing capital. Pliss, who has been with AM Best since 2005, manages a team of analysts responsible for the rating coverage on a diverse group of health insurers, including publicly traded and not-for-profit insurers and writers of dental, long-term care and supplemental health products. The session is scheduled for Monday, June 13, at 3:30 p.m. (EDT).
