As the 45th Season came to a rousing close with cheers and a standing ovation this past Sunday, GALA Theatre were completing the detail on their next season to bring the best of Latino performing arts in 2021-2022.

Although the pandemic changed the world, they remained steadfast in honoring their tradition to provide the audience extraordinary live and virtual programs of excellence and relevance.

During our 2021-2022 season, they invite people to share the excitement and joy they feel as they welcome people back to live theatre, eager to share their artists and artistry with the audience again.  Their 46th season brings works by writers of note who are not seen on other local stages.

“The new season includes an adaptation of a play by Federico Garcia Lorca that is an indictment of Spanish society for its treatment of women, Doña Rosita la soltera (Doña Rosita the Spinster); the stage version of the epic Puerto Rican novel, The House on the Lagoon by Rosario Ferré; our beloved Fuego Flamenco Festival; and the US premiere of Gloria Estefan’s Broadway hit, On Your Feet! en español, revealing the resilience of a Latino couple who achieved the «American Dream”’, the organizers said.

“Join us and experience once again the freedom to QUESTION, To LOVE, and to IMAGINE. Leave behind the self-imposed restrictions of the pandemic and bask in the freedom to challenge, care, and envision a better world through the magic and power of live theater”, they pointed out.
