Where Does Hillary Stand on This?
PHOENIX, AZ – Last week, campaign records disclosed that Richard Sullivan, a lobbyist for private immigration prisons, is raising money for the Hillary Clinton campaign. Erika Andiola and Cesar Vargas, co-Directors of the Dream Action Coalition, issued the following statement on Clinton campaign receiving funds from private prisons:
«We are alarmed the Clinton campaign is accepting money from lobbyist of private prisons, specially as we have seen mass incarceration of people of color, including our uncumented community. Prisons should not be in private hands.»
«It is important to know where Ms. Clinton stand on this given her call to reform an ‘unjust detention system.’ We look forward to seeing an election where candidates can truly distance themselves from money that is created on the pain of our communties and Latino voters hope that her campaign can address this immediately.»
