Washington D.C [CapitalWirePR] July 9, 2013 – Ambassador Raul Yzaguirre will receive the Eagle Leadership Award for his contributions to the empowerment of Latinos and for his lifelong commitment to social justice.
Yzaguirre will be honored at the Latino Leaders Luncheon Series™ hosted by the Latino Leaders Network (LLN) onThursday, July 11, 2013 at the Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia, PA.
“Ambassador Raul Yzaguirre is a humble public servant whose contributions will continue to bear the fruit of increased political and economic power for the Latino community,” states Mickey Ibarra, founder and chairman of LLN.
In 2010, he was confirmed by the Senate as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Dominican Republic. Previously, he served as President and CEO of NCLR for thirty years as it grew into the largest national constituency-based Latino organization in the U.S. and the leading Latino think tank in Washington, DC.
The program will feature tributes from Arturo Valenzuela, former Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Hemisphere; Janet Murguia, President and CEO of NCLR; and Ken Trujillo, LLN Board member.
