McLean 10th Congressional District Candidates Forum

The forum in McLean for 10th Congressional District candidates, Wednesday, May 23, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will focus on economic inequality, health care and other key safety net programs, infrastructure investments, women and minority issues, especially Dreamers and other Hispanic issues.

This is at the McLean Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1545 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA. The forum for the candidates in this nationally watched race is from 6 p.n. to 7:45 p.m., with a session for northern Virginia nonprofits from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on their beneficial work in the area.

We will hear from the Democratic candidates, Republican challenger Shak Hill, and Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) is invited. We have also offered to accept a surrogate speaker for Rep. Comstock, if necessary.

Questioners are Walter Tejada, President, Virginia Latino Leaders Council; Megan Malone, board member of the nonprofit Phillips Programs for Children and Families; Deanna Heier, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Social Concerns Committee Chair; and Lee Powell, Virginia committee of the Economic Equality Caucus.

This is put together by the Virginia committee of the Economic Equality Caucus, a nonpartisan, grassroots economic policy advocacy group. We will not endorse any candidate but want to hear from them all.
