Media Alert: Nor Cal Dancers & Bike Dog Brewery Join Together in “Beer & Ballet,” Sacramento Ballet’s Beloved New Works Series, May 6-21, 2022

Local Brews, Food Trucks & Spirited Community Convene With Fresh Dance On New Stage

–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#ballet–Sacramento Ballet:

WHAT: Sacramento Ballet presents its much anticipated 2022 season-closing showcase, Beer & Ballet on a brand new out-of-doors stage (May 6-21, 2022). Featuring 12 new works by 12 different company dancer-artists, the beloved series has proven a popular crossroads for emerging talent to share new solo & small group works. Long time partner Bike Dog Brewery provides the locally crafted beer & an array of exciting food trucks will sell tasty temptations making the event a treat for all the senses.

“Beer & Ballet features some of the most creative, interesting performances for everyone in our dance community & this year we expect it will be more satisfying than ever,” said Artistic/Executive Director Anthony Krutzkamp. “This marks an especially poignant moment in SacBallet’s history as we continue to work our way out of the Pandemic. We’ve staged a successful near-sold out run of Nutcracker performances followed by our popular, challenging Chrysalis & Catalyst programs. Beer & Ballet will be a welcome breath for our dancers & the community alike; we will celebrate together on our newly built, professionally lit out-of-doors stage.”

At Bike Dog, we integrate physical movement & art in every beer we make,” said Sage Smith of Bike Dog Brewery. “We love being a part of SacBallet’s fusion of art & talent on stage with Beer & Ballet. Our partnership makes the perfect pairing.

Beer & Ballet is an annual celebration — now in its 28th year! — created with the support of Sacramento’s own respected & popular Bike Dog Brewery. Included with a ticket purchase, each attendee will receive one draft beer or glass of wine. After that, each subsequent beverage purchase benefits SacBallet directly.

Each dance piece in Beer & Ballet is an individual, singular work & an unrestricted outlet for the dancer’s personal creativity. There will be a brief meet & greet with the dancers after the performances.

Beer & Ballet 2022 marks the debut performances for SacBallet on its new outside stage. In the spirit of the event, the newly named James Hargrove Outdoor Performance Stage adds up to a fun beer-centric acronym: J-HOPS.

In addition to Bike Dog Brewery’s offerings, Beer & Ballet will feature diverse food trucks including (but not limited to): Nash & Proper (Nashville-style fried chicken), Ash & Oil (accessible modern cuisine), Hefty Gyros (authentic Mediterranean), World Fare (international) & West Coast Taco Bar (California-inspired Mexican).

WHEN: May 6-21, 2022

WHERE: Beer & Ballet will be performed on the new James Hargrove Outdoor Performance Stage (J-HOPS) at SacBallet Studios, 2420 N Street, Sacramento, CA 95816
