Rally to Elevate Victims of Police Violence

Marchers to make stops in several cities as part of a march from new york to washington, dc to demand congressional intervention to confront national crisis of police violence
 
April 17, 2015 (New York, NY) – This Saturday, April 18th, Justice League NYC marchers will walk from Darlington, Maryland to Baltimore on the sixth day of the March2Justice. Marchers are walking from New York City to Washington, DC, engaging in rallies and mobilizations along the route, on the journey to meet with legislators to demand Congressional intervention addressing the national crisis of police violence.
The March2Justice is spanning five states and 250 miles to end in Washington, DC on Tuesday, April 21. Mobilizations have been held in cities along the route including Newark, Trenton, and Philly and more are planned at Lincoln University outside of Wilmington, DE, Baltimore and Washington, DC. Marchers arrive to Baltimore at a time where local victims of police violence are still being mourned and remembered.
Tyrone West and Anthony Anderson’s lives were both taken by the same police unit in Baltimore and their families have continued fighting and organizing for justice. In Washington, the March2Justice will gather on Capitol Hill for a rally before meeting with legislators to demand Congressional intervention and the passage of a Justice Package consisting of legislation to end racial profiling, demilitarize our police forces and shift juvenile justice from institutionalization to prevention. .
