WASHINGTON, DC (CapitalWirePR) December 3, 2015 – ZGS Communications announced today the launch of a scholarship and paid internship project in partnership with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
The CHCI-ZGS Communications Scholar Intern program is designed to offer qualifying Latino students a dynamic real-world work experience in a multi-media environment, while providing monetary compensation and scholarship funds to help students with the financial burdens of post-secondary education.
In its first year, the program will recruit four candidates to be the recipients of a $2,500 scholarship along with a six-week paid internship at one of ZGS’s Telemundo affiliates in Orlando and Tampa or its web portal holaciudad!. Based on the selected students’ majors and preferences, students will work in broadcast engineering, marketing, news or video production.
“As one of the very few Hispanic-owned broadcast and media companies in the country, we are excited to be teaming up with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in an effort to help prepare the next generation of Latino media professionals and leaders.
The CHCI-ZGS Scholar Intern program is both an investment in our future, and a very tangible opportunity for students to gain practical experience in their chosen field,” commented Ronald J. Gordon, CEO of ZGS Communications.
Applications for the CHCI-ZGS Communications Scholar Intern program are available now at apply.chci.org. The deadline to apply is January 22, 2016.
