WASHINGTON – On Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:30 am, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen will visit Mary’s Center in Adelphi, Maryland. Mary’s Center is a Community Health Center with locations in D.C. and Maryland.
Mary’s Center provides a wide range of health and social services that empower patients and participants on the path toward good health, stable living, and economic independence. The Senator will tour the Center to view the services it provides.
During the tour, Senator Van Hollen will speak with patients and employees about their needs, as well as his work in the Senate to expand access to health care and secure funding for community health centers. As a Federally Qualified Community Health Center, Mary’s Center receives funding support from the federal government.
Senator Van Hollen urged his colleagues to include this funding within the budget deal after Republicans left the program without funding for four months. Senator Van Hollen was pleased when this funding was included in the recent bipartisan budget deal negotiated in the Senate.
