Montgomery County, Maryland will host a free World Cup Soccer Final Viewing Party on Sunday, July 13 at Silver Spring Veterans Plaza at the corner of Fenton St. and Ellsworth Dr.
The final match for the 2014 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup, scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., will be aired on a Jumbotron.
Low lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are allowed and there are also many restaurants nearby. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
“Soccer touches the lives of so many around the world, including myself,” said Recreation Department Director Gabe Albornoz.
“I am very proud Montgomery County is able to provide this venue for everyone to come together to enjoy the culmination of this important sporting event that means so much to so many people.”
