NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Yad Vashem USA Foundation is pleased to announce a generous pledge of $300,000 from the Laterman Family Foundation’s (LFF) AddressHate Initiative to support Digital Echoes, a new initiative of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. This program aims to harness digital technologies and social media to bring Holocaust history and survivor testimonies to life for a younger generation, ensuring that the memories of those who perished and the stories of those who survived continue to resonate across generations.
The funds will go towards developing and expanding the Digital Echoes program, which combines new media and education on the Holocaust to reach audiences worldwide. By utilizing digital platforms and interactive media, Digital Echoes will engage users in an immersive learning experience, preserving the memory of the Holocaust in a way that adapts to the evolving digital landscape.
Yad Vashem is grateful to receive a part of The Laterman Family Foundation’s recent pledge of $1 million to combat rising antisemitism through the AddressHate initiative. “The LFF’s ongoing support underscores their dedication to both preserving the legacy of the Holocaust and addressing contemporary issues of hatred and intolerance,” says Frances Laterman, Co-founder and Trustee of the Laterman Family Foundation.
«We are deeply grateful to the Laterman Family Foundation for their generous pledge to Yad Vashem’s Digital Echoes program,» says Tamar Major, National Director of Philanthropy. «Sharing stories of the Holocaust is a powerful tool in the fight against antisemitism, especially for a younger generation, who are often ignorant of this part of history. This gift will play a vital role in ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust continue to be shared in meaningful and innovative ways. The support from the Laterman Family Foundation is invaluable in our mission to educate future generations and combat antisemitism.»
The Digital Echoes program is part of Yad Vashem’s broader efforts to use technology to disseminate historically accurate information and influence online conversation, which helps combat modern-day antisemitism. The initiative aligns with the values and goals of the Laterman Family Foundation’s AddressHate initiative, which focuses on using education and advocacy to confront the spread of hate and prejudice globally.
