Washington, DC – An election-eve poll of nearly 5,000 Latino voters nationwide and in key battleground states will provide insights into Latino voter behavior in the 2014 elections.
The results will include detailed data on Latino voters nationwide and in the following battleground states: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and California.
The findings will focus on which candidates and parties Latino voters cast their ballots for; their motivations for doing so; their views on key issues; and their views on 2016 presidential hopefuls.
The poll also will include an oversample of registered Latino voters who did not participate in the 2014 elections to explore their reasons for not voting as well as their views on issues.
The poll is being conducted by Latino Decisions. The original sponsors for the poll are America’s Voice, Latino Victory Project, and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), and they have been joined by the following partners: AFL-CIO, Mi Familia Vota, NALEO Educational Fund and People For the American Way.
The release of the poll results begins on Election Day, Tuesday, and culminates with a press conference Wednesday, November 5th at 12:30 pm ET in the National Press Club restaurant (complete with livestream access for those unable to attend; for those who can attend, arrive by 12:15 to pick up lunch as event will start promptly at 12:30 pm).
The first stage will be released on Tuesday, November 4th at 1pm ET/10am PT, and will focus on the top issues for Latino voters.
The second round of polling will be released Election night as polls close across the country, indicating how Latinos voted on key propositions and in Senate, House and Gubernatorial races in states where the Latino vote has been oversampled. The third and final round of polling will be released on Wednesday, November 5th at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT at the event sponsored by Latino Victory Project at the National Press Club.
The program will include a full presentation by Latino Decisions as well as brief comments from representatives from each of the participating organizations. Livestream access to Wednesday’s event will be available for media assembled outside Washington, DC.
