Washington National Opera Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program
The Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program is unique in guiding young singers, coach/accompanists, conductors, and stage directors on the verge of international careers.  Mexican genius Placido Domingo has shaped the program to provide intensive study with renowned vocal and drama coaches, and offer voice lessons, language classes; career guidance and master classes from staff and guest artists. The Young Artists also have the opportunity to perform and cover roles on the main stage of Washington National Opera. The Domingo-Cafritz Young Artists have performed at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, the White House, the Kennedy Center, the US Senate, Strathmore Hall, The Smithsonian Institution, The Wilson Center, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Mexican Cultural Institute, and numerous embassies. They have also performed in concert with Maestro Domingo in Beijing.

A spectacle for all ages,  Cuban-American Septime Webre’s Cinderella combines magnificent beauty, ravishing costumes, and Prokofiev’s ultra-lush score in the retelling of this popular romance of a poor girl whose fairy godmother helps her win the love of a Prince.

American Ballet Theatre continues to prove «why dance is not a luxury or a frill but a necessity of life» (The Washington Post) with Le Corsaire, Petipa’s tale of dashing pirates and kidnapped maidens, and a mixed repertory program.

Fortas Chamber Music Concert: Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio
A native of Cochabamba, Bolivia, the accomplished violinist Jaime Laredo has achieved international recognition as conductor of the Vermont Sympathy Orchestra as well as performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, The Children’s Orchestra Society and the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra.
