I am concerned about how women and women’s issues were totally dismissed in the recent Republican Presidential debate.
Only when more women are elected and present at the table — fighting for women’s issues — will we all do better.
Throughout my years in the workplace and in public service, I worked with one very important thing in mind: as women, we all have a responsibility to uplift, support, and advance other women.

  • When I was an systems engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and an Administrator in the Clinton Administration’s Department of Transportation, working in sectors with far to few women, I made every effort to seek out, hire and promote more women into leadership.
  • When elected to the Montgomery County School Board, I made it my mission to get more girls into STEM programs and in challenging programs, and to encourage them to reach higher in every aspect of their education.
  • As a Maryland State Legislator, I fight to protect and support women every day– advocating for higher wages, pay equity, paid sick leave, and more family-friendly policies. And, I am committed in the fight to protect a woman’s right to make her own healthcare choices.

Bottom Line: I believe we deserve leaders with a proven track record of standing up for women if we’re going to continue cracking glass ceilings and knocking down barriers.
I promise to keep fighting tirelessly to advance the issues women most care about. But I need your support to get elected.
